SOLAR POWERED COMMUNITY CENTRES

REQUIREMENT

Several solar powered equipments and devices are used in rural areas for a large number of applications. The solar equipments used require a solar panel to charge batteries in the equipments. The solar panels are placed on a roof top or in a secure place which are subject to theft, vandalism or in many cases absence of space itself to place. The villagers also desired a place within the village where the devices could be serviced periodically. A desire for a community entertainment was also expressed, keeping in mind all this a centralised place where the devices could be safely charged, serviced and checked was designed. The community centre meeting all these demands was designed with a mini service centre, a charging bank and with general purpose devices like rope spinning units, small mills etc. operating on surplus energy available. The community centre was provided with entertainment devices like TV, VCD Radio etc. to meet community entertainment demands.
