SOLAR CHARGED HAWKER LIGHTS

REQUIREMENT

India has a large variety of street hawkers who sell goods on the street like vegetables, small wares. fruits etc. The operation time of the hawkers extends upto the night. Absence of light makes selling of their goods difficult and many a times unsold perishable goods are spoilt leading to loss. A hawker light was designed using LEDs, the need of the design was to make it rugged, easy to operate, have a long storage life / operation and should be chargeble both by Solar and Grid power. The lights provide adequate illumination and helps the hawkers to sell their goods better. The Hawker lights are owned by a 'light hiring' agency and are charged mainly by a solar panel with each light operator having a capacity to charge 15 lights per day through the Solar panel system. The charging is supplemented by grid power if required. The whole process is eco friendly, and 'green' providing a virtually 'zero' Co2 foot print.
